ZRK4 – ZipWall® Room Kit. Create a 3 or 4-sided enclosure or divide up a room with up to 10m of dust barrier in any ceiling height up to 3.8m.

ZipWall® is a system of adjustable spring-loaded poles that hold up sheeting to form a barrier, and delineate a work zone or containment system for drying or mould remediation.

Ideal for containing dust during renovations, refurbishments, demolition, and maintenance in sensitive or occupied areas.

What the Room Kit Does — and What It Leaves Out

The Room Kit gets a sheet up and held without tape: four poles, a sheet and the bag to keep it together. What it does not include is edge sealing or access. With no rails the sheet meets the ceiling only at the pole heads, and with no zipper the only way through is round the end or through a cut slit.

For dust screening during general work that is often enough. For drying chambers, odour work or anything run under negative pressure, add Tight-Seal rails, Side-Seal clamps and a pair of premium zippers — or start with the Zip and Seal Pack, which is this kit plus rails and zippers.

Important: a ZipWall barrier is containment equipment, not a compliance certificate. Where the work is regulated — asbestos, licensed mould remediation or a scope that specifies containment construction — build the enclosure to the regulator, hygienist or scope requirements. CCW makes no claim that a ZipWall kit alone satisfies any Australian code or standard.

A barrier is only as good as its edges

Containment under negative pressure fails at the gaps, not in the middle of the sheet. Air takes the easiest path, and a 20 mm gap along a ceiling line will carry more air than the rest of the barrier combined — which means dust, spores or odour going exactly where you promised they would not.

Seal the top, seal the sides, and check the barrier is drawing inward once the air scrubber is running. A barrier that bows toward you is not sealed.

Setting Up a Pole Barrier

  1. Check the floor and ceiling where each pole will stand — sound plaster or a structural ceiling, not a loose tile or light fitting. On vinyl, polished stone or sealed timber, fit GripDisks to the feet.
  2. Lay the sheet out and place the first head plate at the top corner, with the plastic sandwiched between the head and the non-skid plate.
  3. Raise the pole, extend it to the ceiling and compress the spring so the pole holds under load. Repeat along the barrier line.
  4. Seal the ceiling line with Tight-Seal rails and the wall edges with Side-Seal clamps where the job needs a proper seal rather than a dust screen.
  5. Fit a zipper for access before the sheet gets dusty, then open it with the zipper cutter.
  6. Once the air scrubber is running, check the sheet draws inward along its whole length.

Replacement Sheeting

Sheeting is a consumable. Loose sheeting: Protecta-Sheet 10 m x 4 m, 80 micron or the 2 m x 100 m, 100 micron roll.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the sheeting reusable?

Only on clean dust-screen jobs. Sheeting used on mould, sewage or contaminated jobs should be bagged and disposed of with the job waste, not rolled up and taken to the next site.

Room Kit or Zip and Seal Pack?

The Zip and Seal Pack adds 2 Tight-Seal rails and 2 premium zippers with a cutter. If the barrier needs to hold negative pressure or be walked through, that is the better start.

Can I build a drying chamber with it?

Yes — four poles and a 10 m sheet will build a small chamber against existing walls. Seal the ceiling line and walls if the chamber needs to hold heat and humidity.

What ceiling height does it suit?

Up to 3.8 m with the standard poles.

Will it mark walls or ceilings?

The kit uses no tape or fixings. The pole heads carry pH-neutral non-skid plates; check they are intact before each job.
