Pumps & Motors
The pump sets the pressure at the jets, and pressure at the jets is what puts solution into the base of the pile rather than on top of it. It is also the component most often replaced when the actual fault was a regulator, an unloader or a pressure switch.
Diagnose before buying. A pump is one of the more expensive items on a portable and one of the least likely to have genuinely failed.
The range covers Aquatec demand pumps in 12 V 170 psi and 230 V at both 120 psi and 220 psi; the Flojet 100 psi demand pump in 230 V; the Pumptec Force 250 (112T) at 200 psi; the Emperor General 3.4 GPM EPHT1813S; the Razorback SpotX 230 V replacement pump at 55 psi for Sandia machines; the Air Pump Maxx 450, 470 and Javelin; a Marathon 1/2 hp 120/230 V pump motor; and the Automatic Wastewater Disposal System (AWDS) kit.
How to choose
Match voltage first, pressure second. A 12 V pump runs off a battery or a vehicle supply; 230 V runs off mains. They are not alternatives to each other and fitting the wrong one is not a wiring adjustment.
Higher pressure is not automatically better. A 220 psi pump on a machine plumbed and valved for 120 psi will find the weakest fitting in the line. Match the pump to what the machine was built around.
Rule out the cheap parts first. An unloader valve, a pressure switch or a blocked strainer all present as "no pressure" and all cost a fraction of a pump. Test them before ordering.
Demand pumps cycle — that is normal. A demand pump running on and off at the trigger is working correctly. Continuous short-cycling under no flow is a switch or an accumulator problem.
Wastewater disposal is a separate system. The AWDS kit handles emptying, not solution delivery. On high-volume work it removes the tank cycle from the day.
Seal and valve kits are in Pump Repair Kits & Seals, the Pumptec range in Pump Tec, machine spares in Portable Parts, and vacuum motors in Vacuum Motors.
