GECA Certified
Government, health and education tenders increasingly specify certified cleaning products, and the specification is usually written as a licence number rather than a marketing claim. If you cannot produce one, the submission fails on paperwork regardless of how the product performs.
Every product on this page is listed on Good Environmental Choice Australia licence ACT-2024, held by Actichem Pty Ltd against the Cleaning Products standard CPv3.0-2022. Conformance was assessed by Bureau Veritas. The licence was issued 22 November 2024 and is current until 10 June 2027. You can read the certificate at licence ACT-2024, and we will supply a copy for tender documentation on request.
The range is Actichem’s Responsibly Green line and covers a full commercial round: Surface Clean HD as a degreaser and hard floor cleaner, Neutral Detergent for pH-sensitive and polished floors, Bathroom Cleaner, Shower Cleaner and Toilet Bowl Cleaner for washrooms, Spray n Wipe for general hard surfaces, Window Cleaner for glass and mirrors, and Forest Fresh. Forest Fresh comes in 5 and 15 litre; the rest are 5 litre.
How to choose
Certification is per product, not per brand. Actichem make plenty of products that are not on this licence. If a tender asks for certified product, order from this page rather than assuming the whole Actichem range qualifies — and quote the licence number, not the brand.
Match the detergent to the floor, not the soil. Neutral Detergent is the one for marble, limestone, engineered stone, polished timber and polymer-coated floors, because a neutral pH will not etch or dull them. Surface Clean HD is the degreaser — stronger, and the wrong choice on a pH-sensitive surface.
These are concentrates. Dilution rates vary widely across the range, so the price on the label is not the cost per use. Work out cost in use before comparing against a ready-to-use product.
Check the expiry against your contract term. The licence runs to 10 June 2027. A multi-year contract signed on the strength of certification should account for recertification, so confirm the current licence status when you renew.
GECA is a Type 1 ecolabel. It operates to ISO 14024, which means an independent body assesses the product against a published standard rather than the manufacturer declaring it. That is why Green Star and WELL recognise it, and why it carries weight in a submission that a self-declared claim does not.
