Stair Tools

Stairs are the slowest square metres in the house and the ones the customer inspects most closely. A full-width wand cannot sit flat on a tread, cannot reach the riser, and cannot get into the nosing where the soil actually collects.

A dedicated stair tool fixes all three, and it saves the operator's back on the part of the job that otherwise punishes it.

The range covers the CMP stair tool with S-bend and 2 jets; the PMF upholstery and stair tool; the HydraMaster EVOLUTION stair tool; and the Vpro titanium swivel stair tool at 9 inch x 2 inch with 2 jets.

How to choose

Head width follows the tread, not the wand you own. A narrower head gets into the nosing and the corners. Anything much wider than the tread simply cannot reach where the soil is.

A swivel head tracks the stroke. On stairs the operator is working at an awkward angle for long periods, and a swivel takes load off the wrist. On a full flight that difference compounds.

An S-bend puts the head flat without bending the operator. That is the whole point of the shape — it changes the working angle rather than the tool.

Dual-purpose tools save carrying two. The PMF tool covers upholstery and stairs, which suits residential work where both come up in the same job.

Complete wands are in Carpet Wands, fabric tools in Upholstery Tools & Detailers, valves and jets in Wands & Tool Parts, and glides in Wand Glides.
