Split system and coil cleaning has its own chemistry problem: the surfaces are aluminium fin and copper, the space is enclosed, and whatever is applied either rinses away or stays in the airstream the occupant breathes.

That rules out most general-purpose cleaners, and it is why this range is built around aerosols and foams designed to be applied in place.

The range covers Minehan Biodet mould remover in 5 litre and PowerClean Minehan AirCon SpeedyFoam in 5 litre; and 400 g aerosols in COIL-SHINE alkaline, COBRA no rinse cleaner, CHARGE and Staf sanitiser for air conditioners.

How to choose

No-rinse products exist because rinsing is often impossible. On a wall-mounted head unit over carpet or joinery there is nowhere for rinse water to go. A no-rinse formulation is the difference between a clean and a water damage claim.

Foam holds on a vertical coil. A liquid runs off the fin face before it has had dwell time. SpeedyFoam stays in contact, which is what does the work on a loaded coil.

Alkaline for grease, and check the substrate. COIL-SHINE is alkaline. Aluminium fin is thin and reactive — follow the dilution and contact time on the label rather than extending it because the coil looks bad.

Contain before you spray. Even no-rinse chemistry produces runoff from a dirty coil. A bib kit is part of the method, not an accessory.
