Why a barrier needs a zipper at all
Cutting a slit in a containment sheet to get through it destroys the containment. A self-adhesive zipper gives you a doorway that closes behind you, so the pressure differential is maintained while people and equipment move in and out.
Use the zipper cutter to open the sheet after the zipper is stuck down — cutting first and sticking after gives you a crooked opening that will not close cleanly.
Premium or standard?
Premium zippers are for barriers that will be used repeatedly over days — a remediation job where technicians pass through many times. Standard zippers suit quick jobs and general access.
Fitting
- Fit the zipper when you hang the sheet, while the plastic is clean and dry.
- Position it where people will actually walk through, clear of poles.
- Peel and stick it to the sheet, pressing firmly along the full length.
- Open the sheet behind the zipper with the zipper cutter.
Put a tacky mat at the doorway so foot traffic does not track dust out.
