Foggers

Fogging treats a volume rather than a surface. Where odour or contamination has reached places you cannot wipe — a ceiling void, ductwork, the back of a wardrobe — a fogger puts product into the air as a controlled droplet so it settles everywhere the air went.

Droplet size is what separates the two methods. ULV produces a fine cold mist that stays airborne and settles broadly. Thermal fogging produces a much smaller heated particle that penetrates like smoke, which is why it is the fire damage tool.

The range covers the Air-Care Max ULV fogger in 230 V 50 Hz and the B&G Flex-A-Lite 2600 ULV fogger; the Burgess electric thermal fogger; and Dema high volume portable foggers at 39 litre in telescopic three-nozzle and non-telescopic two-nozzle configurations.

How to choose

Thermal for smoke odour, ULV for sanitising and general treatment. Thermal fogging matches the particle size of smoke, which is what lets it reach where smoke reached. Using ULV on a fire job treats the room but not the penetration.

Fogging is not a substitute for cleaning. Product applied over soot or an untreated source is absorbed and gone. Source removal, cleaning and sealing come first — every time.

Re-entry is part of the method. Ventilation times, occupant notification and the product's own label govern when a space is safe to hand back. Follow the chemical's instructions, not the machine's.

Telescopic reach earns its cost at height. Ceiling voids and plant rooms are where a three-nozzle telescopic unit saves a ladder. On single-level residential it is capability you will not use.
