Couplers & Coupler Parts

A coupler is a connection that has to be made and broken every day and hold pressure or vacuum in between. Two quite different jobs sit in this range, and confusing them is the usual cause of a wrong order.

One is the pump-out side of restoration equipment, where a dehumidifier has to be drained quickly and without a spill. The other is drive transmission on a truckmount, where a coupler sleeve is a wear part between the engine and the blower.

The range covers a female dehumidifier coupler and a Dri-Eaz male dehumidifier pump-out hose coupler; drive coupler sleeves in #6 for the Spitfire Sidekick and #7; the HydraMaster Boxxer 421 coupling rubber plug; and the HydraMaster CDS electric clutch shaft.

How to choose

Couplers are handed, and both halves are sold separately. Male and female pump-out couplers are easy to order the wrong way round. Check what is fitted to the machine, not what is on the hose you are holding.

Drive coupler sleeves are a scheduled wear item. They are designed to give before the shaft does. A sleeve that has started to shed rubber is telling you it has done its job — replace it before it takes the drive with it.

Number the sleeve, not the machine. The #6 and #7 sleeves are different parts. If the old one is legible, order to it.

Drainage speed matters on hire fleets. A unit that cannot be emptied quickly at the end of a job is a unit that goes back on the truck wet.
