PPE is the part of a job that is only noticed when it is missing, and the part an insurer or a regulator asks about first. Mould, meth and fire work all carry exposure risks that a dust mask does not address.
This range covers respiratory protection, eye protection, contamination control and the signage that keeps a public site defensible.
It includes 3M 7500 series half face respirators in small, medium and large, with 3M 60921 organic vapour / P100 cartridges and North 7580P100 particulate cartridges; splash goggles with direct vent and anti-fog, and amber safety glasses for UV inspection; disposable latex gloves and blue shoe covers; Protecta-Mat tacky dust mats; the Fiberlock Klean Pop collapsible decontamination shower; a Hydro-Force single belt pack; and double-sided wet carpet caution signage.
How to choose
Fit decides protection. A half face respirator is sized — small, medium and large exist because a seal that leaks provides no protection at all. Size to the wearer, not to the crew.
Cartridge type follows the hazard. Organic vapour and particulate cartridges filter different things. Solvent work and mould remediation are not the same exposure and do not take the same cartridge.
Cartridges have a service life once opened. Organic vapour cartridges begin loading as soon as they are exposed to air. Date them when they are opened.
Contamination control is about the exit, not the entry. Tacky mats and a decontamination shower exist to stop the work area leaving with the crew.
Signage is part of the job. Wet carpet in a public area without a sign is a liability, and it costs less than any of the rest of this page.
