A barrier is only as good as its edges
Containment under negative pressure fails at the gaps, not in the middle of the sheet. Air takes the easiest path, and a 20 mm gap along a ceiling line will carry more air than the rest of the barrier combined — which means dust, spores or odour going exactly where you promised they would not.
Seal the top, seal the sides, and check the barrier is drawing inward once the air scrubber is running. A barrier that bows toward you is not sealed.
Sealing the vertical edges
Ceiling rails deal with the top of a barrier. The sides — against walls, door reveals and columns — are where the remaining air gets through, and they are the edges people tape. The Side-Seal kit does the same job with pressure instead of adhesive, so nothing is left on the customer’s paintwork.

Rail Lengths: 0.9 m in This Kit, 1.2 m Sold Separately
The rails in this kit are 0.9 m long. The Tight-Seal rail 2 pack (ZTS2) and the rails in the Complete Seal Pack are 1.2 m. Both lengths clip to the poles with T-clips and join end to end, so they can be mixed along a barrier.
Fitting Advice
- Hang the sheet on the poles first, then work along the edges.
- Press the sheet against the wall or reveal with the rail and hold it there with the clamps — firm, even contact along the full height is what seals, not one tight spot.
- Check the surface behind first: loose render, wet paint or fresh wallpaper can still be marked by pressure.
- Once the air scrubber is running, check each edge for the sheet lifting or fluttering.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need this if I have Tight-Seal rails at the ceiling?
Yes, if the barrier is under negative pressure or must stop fine dust. Ceiling rails seal the top; the vertical edges still leak unless they are sealed as well.
Does it include poles?
No. It is an add-on for existing ZipWall poles.
Will the clamps damage walls?
They use pressure rather than adhesive, so nothing is left behind on sound surfaces. Take care on fragile or freshly painted finishes.
Can I buy clamps on their own?
