Parts & Maintenance

Downtime is the most expensive thing in this trade. A machine on the bench is a day not billed, and the part holding it up is usually small, cheap and not on the van.

This is the parts counter: the repair kits, jets, strainers, filters, gaskets, switches and engine spares that keep portables, truckmounts, wands and vacuums working.

It spans Hydro-Force sprayer and injector kits; Briggs & Stratton engine spares; PMF V800, V800-EZ, V4N and V1245 valve repair kits; Spraying Systems VeeJet brass and stainless jets in 8006, 11002 and the rest of the range; Kingston 251-30 valve kits; Dri-Eaz HEPA 500 pre-filters; SEBO and Columbus vacuum bags and filter kits; brass strainer bodies, adapters and acorn strainers.

How to choose

Order by part number, not description. Valve kits in particular look alike and are not interchangeable — a V800 old-style kit will not fit a V800-EZ. Where a part supersedes another we say so on the product page.

Seal kit or stem kit. If a valve weeps at the jets, the seal kit is usually the fix. If it leaks at the stem or the trigger feels spongy, you want the stem kit. Ordering both costs little and saves a second wait.

Jets drift before they look worn. Spray pattern degrades gradually, so the loss of performance is easy to miss. Brass jets are a shorter-interval consumable than stainless; the full range is in T-Jets, V-Jets & Flood Jets.

Filters are a performance part, not housekeeping. A loaded vacuum filter or HEPA pre-filter costs lift and airflow long before it looks blocked. See Filters & Filter Bags.

Keep a shelf kit. The parts that most often stop a job — a valve repair kit, a set of jets, a strainer screen, a spare cuff — are worth holding rather than ordering.

Machine-specific spares are grouped in Portable Parts, valve rebuilds in Valve Repair Kits, and wand components in Wands & Tool Parts.
