The machines get specified; the accessories decide how the job actually runs. A flood extraction tool that seats properly, an adapter that lets an air mover feed a cavity, or a soot sponge that lifts rather than smears — these are the items that make a drying or fire plan work on site.

How to choose

Flood tool size follows the machine, not the room. A large Water Claw moves more water per pass but needs the vacuum to clear it. On an under-powered portable the medium will finish the job faster.

Soot sponges are single-use in practice. Once loaded they smear. Dry sponging is a consumable-heavy process and running short mid-job is a false economy.

Adapters are what let one air mover do two jobs. The Direct-It adapters turn a standard or axial mover into a cavity feed. Check which body you have — the axial and standard adapters are different parts.

Pre-filters protect the expensive filter. A HEPA primary is many times the cost of the pre-filter in front of it. Change the cheap one on schedule.
