Why This Pack Is the Usual Starting Point
The Room Kit hangs a sheet. The Zip and Seal Pack turns it into a working barrier: the Tight-Seal rails press a foam face along the ceiling line so air cannot slip over the top, and the zippers give you a doorway that closes behind you. For most drying chambers and dust-control jobs in occupied buildings, those two things are what make the barrier actually hold.
What it still does not seal is the vertical edges against walls, door reveals and columns. For that, add Side-Seal clamps or the Side-Seal kit — or start with the Complete Seal Pack, which includes them.
Important: a ZipWall barrier is containment equipment, not a compliance certificate. Where the work is regulated — asbestos, licensed mould remediation or a scope that specifies containment construction — build the enclosure to the regulator, hygienist or scope requirements. CCW makes no claim that a ZipWall kit alone satisfies any Australian code or standard.
A barrier is only as good as its edges
Containment under negative pressure fails at the gaps, not in the middle of the sheet. Air takes the easiest path, and a 20 mm gap along a ceiling line will carry more air than the rest of the barrier combined — which means dust, spores or odour going exactly where you promised they would not.
Seal the top, seal the sides, and check the barrier is drawing inward once the air scrubber is running. A barrier that bows toward you is not sealed.
Setting Up a Pole Barrier
- Check the floor and ceiling where each pole will stand — sound plaster or a structural ceiling, not a loose tile or light fitting. On vinyl, polished stone or sealed timber, fit GripDisks to the feet.
- Lay the sheet out and place the first head plate at the top corner, with the plastic sandwiched between the head and the non-skid plate.
- Raise the pole, extend it to the ceiling and compress the spring so the pole holds under load. Repeat along the barrier line.
- Seal the ceiling line with Tight-Seal rails and the wall edges with Side-Seal clamps where the job needs a proper seal rather than a dust screen.
- Fit a zipper for access before the sheet gets dusty, then open it with the zipper cutter.
- Once the air scrubber is running, check the sheet draws inward along its whole length.

Frequently Asked Questions
Zip and Seal Pack or Complete Seal Pack?
The Complete Seal Pack adds two more poles, two more rails and Side-Seal clamps for the wall edges. If you regularly build barriers under negative pressure, or build an airlock, the extra poles and side sealing are worth it.
Are the zippers reusable?
No. Self-adhesive zippers stay with the sheet. Spare premium zippers are sold in 2 packs.
When should I fit the zipper?
When you hang the sheet, while it is clean and dry. Self-adhesive zippers do not stick well to dusty or damp plastic.
Can I add more rails?
Yes. Rails join end to end; add Tight-Seal rail 2 packs and T-clips as needed.
What ceiling height does it suit?
Up to 3.8 m with the standard poles.
