Carpet Boosters & Additives

A booster is what you reach for when the prespray is right but the soil is worse than the job was quoted for. Rather than switching to a more aggressive chemical, you lift the performance of the one already in the tank.

That distinction matters on wool, on delicate fibre and on anything where the strongest product available is not the safest choice.

The range covers Actichem Oxyboost Plus in 1 kg and 4.5 kg, Colloidal Boost 5 litre and Perox 5 litre at 50% hydrogen peroxide; Razorback OxyBoost 1 kg and CitraBoost booster and spotter 4 litre; and VacAway Spot N Boost in 946 ml and 3.78 litre.

How to choose

Oxidising boosters work on organic soil. Food, beverage, protein and general traffic soil respond. Oil and grease do not — that is a surfactant and solvent problem, and a peroxide booster will not touch it.

Solvent boosters extend the prespray, not replace it. Citrus-based boosters like CitraBoost add solvency to an existing prespray. Used neat as a spotter they behave differently again — check which application the label describes.

Handle 50% hydrogen peroxide as the hazardous material it is. Perox at that concentration is not a general-purpose booster. Read the SDS, wear appropriate protection, never mix it with other chemistry, and dilute exactly as specified. If you are unsure, use the pre-diluted Oxyboost products instead.

Boost the prespray, then still rinse properly. A boosted prespray puts more into the carpet. If the rinse does not carry it back out, the result is faster resoiling than if you had not boosted at all.

Test for colour change. Oxidisers can affect dye on some carpets. An inconspicuous area first, every time.
