Overview
RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) sensor kit with compression fitting for the HydraMaster TITAN 575. CCW part reference 078-389.
The RTD is what the machine's temperature control reads. When it drifts or fails, the control system acts on a number that is not true — which is why a sensor fault can present as overheating, as a machine that never reaches temperature, or as readings that jump around while the machine itself is running normally.
What is in the kit
- RTD sensor probe, stainless steel
- High-temperature sensor lead
- Compression fitting
Supplied complete, so the fitting does not have to be sourced separately.
What it fits
Fitment to other machines has not been verified from a parts list. Send us your machine model and serial number and we will confirm before you order.
Diagnosis before replacement
Erratic temperature readings, overheating warnings, or heat that will not hold are all worth checking at the sensor and its wiring before anything larger is suspected. An RTD reads by resistance, so a corroded terminal or a chafed lead produces the same symptom as a failed probe — and costs nothing to rule out.
Check the compression fitting is seated and the probe is fully inserted. A probe sitting proud of the flow reads the fitting rather than the solution, which gives a low and lazy reading.

Frequently asked questions
Is this the same as the dash temperature sender?
No. The sender drives the gauge you read; the RTD feeds the control system. A machine can have a healthy gauge and a failed RTD, or the reverse.
Can I test it rather than replace it?
Yes. An RTD changes resistance with temperature, so it can be checked with a multimeter as the machine warms. A reading that does not move, or an open circuit, confirms it.
Does it include the compression fitting?
Yes. Probe, lead and fitting are supplied together.
