The Tramex RIK allows for point-of-contact, non-destructive moisture testing in roofing waterproofing systems up to approximately 10cm (4") in depth with the RWS Roof & Wall Scanner.
The kit also allows for non-destructive measurement of moisture conditions in concrete decks and pin readings in wood decks and roofing materials, relative humidity readings, and ambient and dew point conditions using the Tramex CMEX5 digital moisture meter and probes.
An infrared surface thermometer gives surface temperature.
The Tramex Roofing Inspection Kit comes with an extension handle in a protective heavy-duty carrying case with die-cut foam lining.
Bluetooth connectivity to the Tramex Meters App allows for visualization of Tramex CMEX5 readings and data reporting to mobile devices, to GeoTag test results, create, save and share photos, reports and charts, as well as see your CMEX5 meter screen on your phone when extending to hard to reach places.

The difference is the DEC Scanner. The RIK is a handheld pairing for inspection and detail work. The RMK adds the large-format DS2, which is what makes surveying an entire commercial flat roof in a day practical. If your work is single-building inspections, the RIK is enough; if you tender on roof surveys by area, the RMK pays for itself in time.

Frequently asked questions
Will the RWS read every roof type?
No. Impedance scanning does not work through conductive materials – some EPDM, butyl rubber and other conductive membranes, and hard coat stucco or wire mesh reinforced finishes. Check the membrane before relying on it.
Is a phone included?
No. The Tramex Meters app is a free download for iOS and Android and runs on your own device.
Can I buy the components separately?
Yes – every instrument in the kit is stocked individually. The kit is generally better value and removes the risk of ordering an accessory with the wrong connector.
