Why the Swivel Is a Wear Part
A rotary hard surface tool spins under pressure with the hose fixed. The swivel is the only thing standing between that rotation and your hose, and it carries the full solution pressure while it does it.
When it starts to leak or bind, the tool becomes hard to steer and the hose begins to wind up. Neither symptom announces itself as a swivel problem, which is why tools get condemned for a part that costs a fraction of the machine.

Repair or Replace?
A swivel that is weeping at the seal can often be rebuilt rather than replaced. The ceramic seal kit (PM036903) is a fraction of the price of a new swivel and is the first thing to try where the body and bearings are sound.
Replace the swivel where it binds, rumbles, or has play in the shaft — those are bearing symptoms and a seal kit will not fix them.
Operating Advice
- Do not run a rotary tool dry. The seal faces rely on the solution passing through them for cooling and lubrication.
- Stay inside the temperature rating. 93 degrees C is the limit, and truckmount solution can exceed it.
- Depressurise before removing it.
- Treat a weep as a service item, not a fault. Every rotating seal under pressure is a consumable.

Can I rebuild the one I have instead?
If the body and bearings are sound, yes — the seal kit (PM036903) is the cheaper first move.

4,000 psi, 4 to 10 gpm and up to 93 degrees C at 2,000 rpm.
Why does my hose keep winding up?
Usually a swivel that has begun to bind. It is turning, but not freely, and the resistance goes back into the hose.
Is it the same swivel as the SX-7 uses?
No. The SX-7 takes NX108. The seal kit is common to both.

What We See in the Field
Swivels are replaced late, after the tool has been hard to steer for weeks and the operator has adapted to it. By then the hose has usually taken a set from winding up, and that gets replaced too. A swivel checked at service is a cheaper conversation than a swivel found at failure.
