Why ceramic
A swivel on a rotary tool turns continuously under full solution pressure. That is a hard duty for an elastomeric seal — it wears, then it leaks, then it drops pressure at the jets. A ceramic seal face runs against a matching face and survives it far longer.
Ceramic is also unaffected by the hot alkaline and acidic chemistry used on hard surfaces, which is what kills a rubber seal early.
Symptoms of a failing swivel
Solution weeping from the swivel body, a tool that has become stiff to rotate, or a drop in jet pressure with no change at the machine. On a spinner, all three point to the same part.
Important: one US parts site describes the T-8A as a top-port swivel, while the manufacturer's parts list and other distributors describe it as side port. Compare the port position on your existing swivel before ordering.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can the swivel be rebuilt?
Turbo Force list a TS-11 ceramic seal replacement kit for it. We do not currently list the TS-11 — ask us if you want to rebuild rather than replace.
Is swivel failure covered by warranty?
Turbo Force's TH-40 warranty excludes swivel damage caused by incorrect adjustment. Do not over-tighten the swivel when fitting it.
Why is my spray bar spinning slowly?
A worn swivel leaks pressure before it reaches the jets. Check for weeping at the swivel, then check the jets for blockage.
