Product Overview
Mosmatic ceramic seal kit 36.903, NW 1/4 inch. It is the rebuild kit for the rotating seal inside a swivel, and it is what lets a worn swivel be repaired rather than replaced.
Ceramic seal faces, built for high pressure and high rpm duty. Adhesive is included in the kit.
Fitment
The kit fits Mosmatic DXL, DXG and DXF swivels with a 1/4 inch nominal width. In the equipment CCW supplies, that covers:
- Swivel with Flange for CX/SX-15 (NX105)
- Swivel for SX-7 (NX108)
- TurboForce Ceramic Seal Side Port Swivel (TFT-8A)
- NX100 and NX101K swivels
Those swivels are found in the SX-7, SX-12, SX-15, CX-15 and TurboForce tools.
Repair or Replace?
A seal kit is a fraction of the price of a new swivel, so it is the first move where the fault is a weep at the seal and the rest of the swivel is sound.
| Symptom | Seal kit or new swivel |
|---|---|
| Weeping at the seal, otherwise turns freely | Seal kit |
| Binding, stiff, or the hose winds up | New swivel — that is bearing wear |
| Play or rumble in the shaft | New swivel |
| Damaged body or flange | New swivel |

Operating Advice
- Work clean. Ceramic seal faces are unforgiving of grit, and a rebuilt swivel assembled with contamination weeps again straight away.
- Do not handle the seal faces. Marks from fingers or tools become leak paths.
- Use the adhesive supplied — it is part of the kit for a reason.
- Do not run the tool dry afterwards. The seal faces rely on solution flow for cooling and lubrication, and a dry run damages a new kit as readily as an old one.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which swivels does it fit?
Mosmatic DXL, DXG and DXF at 1/4 inch nominal — in CCW's range that is the NX105, NX108, TFT-8A, and the NX100 and NX101K.
Is adhesive included?
Yes.
My swivel binds — will this fix it?
No. Binding is bearing wear. A seal kit fixes a weep, not a bearing.
Can I fit it myself?
It is a workshop job rather than a roadside one — clean conditions matter more than tools. If you would rather not, talk to us about a service.
How often will a swivel need one?
There is no interval. It depends on hours, temperature and whether the tool has been run dry. Treat it as a service item on a rotary tool in regular use.

What We See in the Field
Most swivels replaced at full price only needed a seal kit. The tell is whether it still turns freely when the pressure is off — if it does, the bearings are fine and you are buying a leak fix, not a swivel.
