The 2.5 inch to 2 inch female reducer inserts into the 2.5 inch hose, and a 2 inch male Cool Cuff then screws onto it. It mates with a 2 inch male cuff. Wanders describes the reducer insert as the most important Cool Cuff in the system, because it is what lets 2.5 inch and 2 inch hose work together on one line.
Reduce Late in the Run
Airflow is limited by the narrowest section of the line. Running 2.5 inch hose for the long run and reducing to 2 inch close to the tool keeps most of the run at the larger bore. Reducing at the machine gives you a 2 inch system with expensive hose attached to it.
How the Cool Cuff System Fits Together
Cool Cuffs™ are a two-part vacuum hose connector made by Wanders Products. Each female cuff threads onto the end of a vacuum hose and locks to a male cuff with a quarter turn. The female swivel is the part that rotates, so the hose can turn without twisting the line.
- Female swivel (AH142): threads onto the hose and does the swivelling.
- Starter cuff (AH140): connects the hose line to the barb or pipe on the machine.
- 2.5 to 2 inch reducer insert (AH146): steps a 2.5 inch hose down to 2 inch Cool Cuffs.
CCW currently lists these three 2.5 inch parts. Male cuffs and 2 inch Cool Cuffs are not listed online; ask us if you need them.
