Blocks or tabs?
Foam blocks lift a furniture leg clear of damp carpet, which is what you want under anything heavy or anything with a finish that can bleed. Plastic and foil tabs sit flat and suit lighter items and tight clearances. Most vans carry both.
Why they get stored badly
Loose blocks compress and crumble under everything else in the van, and a crushed block does not hold a leg clear. Keeping full sheets flat in a holder is what makes them last the month you paid for.
