Product Overview
Viper Venom is the original Viper tile and grout cleaner — a high alkaline, solvent-fortified prespray for heavy soil on hard surfaces. Its blend of builders, solvents and surfactants loosens and emulsifies built-up grease, dirt and staining.
You will often see soil lifting out of the grout before the machine touches it.
Choosing Across the Viper Range
The soil decides the chemistry, and the pH direction decides the risk. Alkaline products lift greasy and organic soil; the acid product dissolves mineral deposits. They are not interchangeable.

Alkaline first. Most tile and grout soil is greasy and organic, and that is what the alkaline products are for. Reach for the acid only when what is left is mineral.

The same alkalinity and solvent content that lifts kitchen grease works on smoke residue, which is why this product does double duty on hard surfaces in fire restoration.
Natural Stone
The manufacturer states Viper Venom can be used on natural stone for restoration cleaning when rinsed effectively with an SX-12 or SX-15 hard surface cleaner. This is a high alkaline product, so pretest, keep dwell under control, and be confident you can rinse and recover thoroughly before committing to a stone floor.
Manufacturer's Claim
Bridgepoint describes Viper Venom as the industry's number one selling tile and grout cleaner. That is the manufacturer's claim about its own sales and CCW has not independently verified it.
Standing Rules for Hard Surface Chemistry
- Pretest in an inconspicuous area, every job. Tile, grout and stone vary, and so does what has been done to them before.
- Never mix products. Acid and alkaline neutralise each other and waste both; acid mixed with chlorinated products can generate chlorine gas.
- Never let it dry on the surface. Dwell, then clean and extract while it is still wet.
- Rinse thoroughly. Residue left in grout attracts soil and the floor looks worse in a month than it did before you cleaned it.
- Ventilate, and keep children and pets out of the area during application and drying.
- Know your stone. Marble, travertine and limestone are calcareous and are attacked by acid. Ask before you spray.

Frequently Asked Questions
What dilution should I use?
1:1 with hot water for restoration, 1:16 for maintenance. Hot water, not warm, on the heavy work.
Venom liquid or Venom Powder?
Same job. The powder (CR23A) is cheaper per made-up litre and adds a citrus fragrance; the liquid is simpler to mix on site.
Can I use it on natural stone?
The manufacturer permits it for restoration cleaning with effective rinsing. Pretest first, and if the stone is calcareous and valuable, get advice before you spray.
It did not shift the marks — what now?
If what is left is mineral (hard water, efflorescence, soap scum), no alkaline product will touch it. That is what Viper Renew (CH49GL) is for.
