SKU:CSX-3400

Air scrubbers help protect the health of workers and building occupants by providing a cleaner working environment. The XPOWER X-3400 is a portable filtration system that draws air in from the surrounding environment and passes it through a series of filters to remove contaminants such as particles, gases and chemicals.

Air scrubbers are commonly used on restoration jobs where airborne contaminants are present or will be created or disturbed during the restoration process, such as mould, dust, asbestos and fumes. These hazardous particles can settle on carpet, upholstery and furnishings, or be drawn into the HVAC system and contaminate other parts of a building.

Important: Regulated Work

Asbestos removal and some mould remediation work are regulated in Australia, with requirements on licensing, equipment, air monitoring and clearance. CCW makes no claim that the X-3400 on its own meets the requirements of any particular code, licence condition or job specification. Check the scope, the regulator's requirements and the hygienist's specification before relying on any air scrubber.

Operating Advice

  1. Place the scrubber so it draws air from the work zone and discharges towards clean air or out of the containment.
  2. Check all three filters are fitted and sealed before starting — a missing pre-filter loads the HEPA fast.
  3. Start on a lower speed and increase to suit the room and the dust load.
  4. Check the pre-filter daily on dusty work and change it on condition. Replace the HEPA when the indicator light prompts or airflow drops with clean pre-filters fitted.
  5. Bag used filters on site on mould, fire and sewage jobs.

Electrical Safety

  • Plug into an earthed, RCD-protected outlet and keep the lead off wet floors.
  • Include the unit in your test-and-tag schedule.
  • Check the total load before running several machines on one circuit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can it be used to create negative pressure?

XPOWER's US listing gives a 6 x 11.9 in duct outlet. CCW does not list a ducting adapter for the X-3400 or publish airflow when ducted — ask us before planning negative air with it.

Is it suitable for asbestos work?

See the Regulated Work section above. Licensed asbestos removal has its own equipment and monitoring requirements; confirm against the job specification.

How often should the HEPA be changed?

Watch the indicator light and airflow. Keeping the pre-filters changed makes the HEPA last far longer.

Does it remove odour?

The standard filters remove particles. For odour, CCW lists a carbon filter (CF35) used with the H35 HEPA.

How many units do I need?

Size air scrubbers on the room volume and the air changes per hour your scope requires, using the airflow figure for the unit.

Tell us about the job and the scope requirements and we will help you size air filtration and choose filters.
