Important: Two Different Intake Filters
The XD-85LH takes a primary and a secondary intake filter. They are different parts at different prices — order by position, not by appearance. This listing is the secondary filter.
CCW's machine listing describes the XD-85LH filter as a washable stainless steel filter. XPOWER do not publish a material, size or part number for these replacement intake filters, so compare the old filter with the product photo, or send us a picture, before ordering.
Primary and secondary
The primary filter takes the coarse load; this secondary filter takes the fines before they reach the coil. A fouled coil is a service job; a changed filter is a two-minute task.
A blocked filter does not stop filtering — it stops flowing
Air scrubbers and dehumidifiers work in proportion to the air they move. As a filter loads, airflow falls, and the machine keeps running and keeps sounding normal while its actual performance drops away. Nothing on the machine tells you. The drying log shows equipment on site; the readings show a job that has stalled.
On fire, construction dust and demolition work, check filters daily.
Changing the Filter
- Switch off and unplug the dehumidifier.
- Remove the filter and note which way it faces.
- Check the coil behind it. If dust has reached the coil, the filter has been left too long or was not seated — clean the coil before refitting.
- Fit the new filter the same way round and make sure it seats fully, with no gap at the edges.
- Restart and record the change in the drying log.

Yes. The machine is designed to run with both in place. Running without one either passes dust to the coil or changes the airflow the machine depends on.
Can the filter be washed?
CCW's XD-85LH listing describes a washable filter. If you wash it, let it dry fully before refitting, and replace it once it is damaged, distorted or will not come clean.
How often should it be checked?
