Tramex Calibration Check Plugs - PTMCALSET (set of 3)
The Tramex calibration check plugs are used for checking readings on the Tramex non-destructive impedance type moisture meters with plugs for probe attachments (CMEX2 and MRH3)
These plugs allows the user to verify that the instrument and more specifically that the plugs on the meter used for optional probe attachments, are still performing within tolerances deemed acceptable by Tramex. Tramex recommend that instrument users check their instruments regularly on the relevant calibration check equipment.
Calibration check plugs are for field calibration checking of Tramex instruments, to verify that instruments are within Tramex specified tolerances.
Why check, and when
These instruments do not drift dramatically – they drift quietly. A meter that has been dropped, left in a hot vehicle, or simply worked hard for a couple of years can read consistently and still read wrong, and nothing on the display tells you. A check before a job whose readings go into a report, an insurance claim or a compliance certificate costs a minute and protects the reading you are prepared to sign your name to.
A check box confirms the meter reads correctly. It is not a calibration adjustment – if a meter fails its check, it needs to go back for service.

Impedance meters and RH probes are checked differently. An impedance meter is verified against a reference box or plate of known value; an RH probe is verified in a sealed salt chamber at a known humidity. One does not substitute for the other, and a meter that takes RH probes needs both.
