Replacement bib (bag) for the SpeedClean Mini-Split Bib Kit XL. SpeedClean part number BXL-001.
About SpeedClean Bibs
A bib wraps around an installed ductless air handler and channels wash water and coil cleaner into a bucket instead of down the wall. It is what makes it possible to wash an indoor coil, fan and blower wheel properly in an occupied room or office rather than giving it a token wipe.
The XL kit exists because larger commercial wall units will not fit the standard bib. The XL bib is cut for those wider units.
The Bag Is the Disposable Half
The brackets and deflector plates last. The bag takes the dirty water and the chemical, so it is the part that gets holed by a bracket corner or perished by concentrate. It is the part worth carrying a spare of — a split bag on a commercial job means either an abandoned clean or water down a client's wall.
Important: Which Kit Is It For?
This bib is for the SpeedClean Mini-Split Bib Kit XL only. SpeedClean lists a separate replacement bib for each of its kits:
- Mini-Split Bib Kit XL (units 45 to 60 in, about 114 to 152 cm wide) — BXL-001 (this part)
- Mini-Split Bib Kit, with or without bucket (units up to 44 in, 112 cm wide) — replacement bib MSB-01
- Mini-Split Bib Kit 360 — SpeedClean MSB-14 (not listed by CCW — ask us)
- Cassette Bib Kit — cassette replacement bib
If your unit is 112 cm wide or less, you are running the standard kit and need the MSB-01, not this bib.

Fitting the Replacement Bib
- Remove the old bib from the brackets and deflector plates. Keep the brackets, plates and tape — they are reused.
- Check the new bib for pinholes before the first job by holding it up to the light.
- Fit it to the brackets the same way as the original, with the funnel end at the bottom.
- Run the drain hose into a bucket set below the funnel so it drains by gravity without kinking.
- Run a little clean water through before starting the coil cleaner to confirm the bag and hose are sealed.
Making a Bib Last
- Rinse the bib with clean water after each job so concentrated coil cleaner does not sit on it.
- Dry it before packing it away, and pack it without sharp folds.
- Keep it clear of bracket corners and tools in the bucket.
- Check it for pinholes before each job.
As a guide, CCW's figure for SpeedClean bibs is around 10 to 12 units per bib, with storage and handling making a large difference.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will the standard MSB-01 bib fit my XL kit?
No. The XL kit is built for units 45 to 60 in wide and takes the larger BXL-001 bib. The MSB-01 is for the standard kit.
Can I patch a holed bib?
SpeedClean does not publish a repair method. A patch that lets go mid-wash puts water down a wall, so replace a holed bib rather than patch it.
Does it come with the brackets, plates or tape?
No. This is the bib only. The brackets and deflector plates from your XL kit are reused, and replacement low tack tape is listed separately.
Is the bucket included?
No. Use the bucket from your kit, or any clean bucket large enough for the job.
What cleaner can I run through it?
The bib is designed for coil cleaner and water applied with a pump sprayer or the SpeedClean CoilJet. Rinse it after use so concentrate does not sit on the plastic.
