Protimeter ReachMaster Pro Non-Invasive Moisture Meter
The ReachMaster Pro is a non-invasive moisture meter on a telescopic handle. The sensor head sits on a pole that extends to 114 cm and communicates wirelessly with a handheld display, so ceilings, high walls, roof spaces and under-floor areas can be scanned from the ground without a ladder.
Why the reach matters
Most ceiling moisture is found by someone standing on something. The ReachMaster Pro removes that step, which is a working-at-height reduction as much as a productivity gain. It also scans deeper than a standard non-invasive meter — up to 12 cm below the surface.
How to read it
Like all non-invasive meters, the ReachMaster Pro gives a relative reading rather than a moisture content percentage. Take a reference reading on known-dry material of the same construction, then compare. Metal behind the surface — mesh, foil-backed insulation, ducting, wiring — reads high on dry material, so confirm anything unexpected with a pin meter.

- Fibreglass marine hull inspection
Maintenance — the abrasion plate
The sensor head is dragged across surfaces, so the face wears. Protimeter supplies a replaceable abrasion plate kit (BLD5777-A) for exactly this reason. Replacing a worn plate is a five-minute job; scanning on a worn-through head is not something the instrument recovers from. Keep a spare with the meter.
Frequently asked questions
Does it give a moisture content percentage?
No. It is non-invasive and gives a relative reading for locating and comparing. For a moisture content figure you need a pin meter such as the SurveyMaster or the MMS3.
How is it different from the Aquant?
The Aquant is a handheld non-invasive meter reading to about 19 mm. The ReachMaster Pro reads to about 12 cm and puts the sensor on a 114 cm telescopic handle with a wireless display. Different jobs.
Does the sensor head need to touch the surface?
Yes, it is a contact-scan instrument — that is why the abrasion plate is a wearing part.
How many batteries does it take?
Six AA in total: two in the sensor head and four in the display module. Carry spares of both.
Calibration
Pin accuracy can be checked in the field at any time with the Calcheck device. For a documented conformance certificate, twelve months is a sensible starting interval, adjusted to your own work environment and quality procedures. Certification is available in Australia.
