Protimeter ReachMaster Pro Abrasion Plate Kit
Replacement abrasion plate and fixing screws for the Protimeter ReachMaster Pro sensor head.
Why it wears out
The ReachMaster Pro is a contact-scan instrument. The sensor head is drawn across ceilings, walls and roof surfaces, and the plate on its face takes that abrasion so the sensor itself does not. On render, brick, textured ceilings and roof membranes it wears quickly.
When to replace it
- Visible scoring, thinning or a polished patch on the plate face
- Readings that have become erratic or drift between passes over the same spot
- Any point where the plate has worn through — stop scanning immediately, because the sensor face is next
A worn plate is a consumable. A damaged sensor head is a service job. Keeping a spare kit with the meter is the cheapest insurance on the instrument.

Frequently asked questions
Can I fit it myself?
Yes. The plate is screw-fixed to the sensor head and the screws are supplied. No calibration is required afterwards, though a check against a known-dry reference is always sensible after any work on a sensor.
Does it fit any other Protimeter meter?
No. It is specific to the ReachMaster Pro sensor head.
How often will I need one?
It depends entirely on the surfaces you scan. Smooth painted plasterboard is gentle on it; render, brick and roof membrane are not. Inspect the plate whenever you change batteries.
