Prochem Citrus Gel is a highly effective spotter that is both safe and powerful. Its concentrated formula removes oily stains from a wide range of surfaces. These include asphalt, tar, chewing gum, automotive grease and oil, and food oils such as bacon grease, lard and fats. It also removes crayon, lipstick, mascara, hair oils, oily cosmetics, adhesive residue, ointments, margarine and some fresh paint spots. Citrus Gel can also remove some water-based components of oily stains.
This product is an alternative to Bridgepoint Gel Break.
Why a Thickened Solvent Spotter
Oily spots need a solvent to dissolve them. A thin solvent runs through the pile into the backing and underlay, which spreads the stain and can cause wicking later. Citrus Gel is thickened, so it stays on the spot long enough to work. Its surfactants then lift the loosened soil so it rinses out with water.

US distributors list Citrus Gel for synthetic and natural carpet, upholstery and draperies, as well as tile floors, benchtops, concrete, brick, garage floors, engines and parts, and clothing. Aramsco describe it as suitable for synthetic and most natural fibres. Always pre-test, especially on natural fibres and delicate fabrics.

Product Application
- Use as is: no dilution is needed. Apply directly to the spot.
- Pre-test: Citrus Gel is very safe and mild for most surfaces, but always pre-test in an inconspicuous area before use.
- Apply: shake before use.
- Squeeze: squeeze Citrus Gel onto the spot and allow 2–5 minutes of contact time.
- Remove: gently blot or scrape to remove the spotter and the spot. Repeat if necessary for difficult spots.
- Rinse: wipe with a sponge or towel and clear water, or extract with clear water. Brush fabric to align the fibres.
Getting a Good Result
- Scrape off as much of the solid deposit (gum, tar, wax) as you can before applying the gel.
- Work from the outside of the spot towards the centre so you do not spread it.
- Rinse thoroughly. Solvent and surfactant left in the pile attract soil, and the spot may seem to come back.
- If the oily part lifts but a coloured mark remains, it is often a separate water-based stain. Treat it with a spotter matched to that stain.

Citrus Gel or Bridgepoint Gel Break?
Both are citrus-based solvent gels for gum, tar and oily spots, and CCW lists each as an alternative to the other. Use the one your team prefers, or whichever is in stock.
Does it need rinsing?
Yes. Wipe with clear water or extract with clear water after the spot is removed.
Will it remove coffee, red dye or blood?

Can I use it on wool?
