Product Overview
This hide-a-hose whip assembly is used with the SX-7 when cleaning countertops, shower walls or other handheld work.
It carries both the vacuum and the solution line in one 10 foot whip, so the tool can be lifted off the floor and worked by hand without dragging full-size hose up onto a benchtop or into a shower recess.
Includes
- Safe Connect
- 10' vacuum and solution hose
- Male quick connect
- Three 1.5 inch cuffs — AH42, AH15 and AH13
What It Is For
The SX-7 is a hand tool, but on a full-size hose set it behaves like a floor tool — the weight of the hose pulls it off the surface and works against you on vertical and overhead work. The whip assembly decouples the tool from that weight.
Typical use is shower walls and screens, splashbacks, benchtops, stair risers, and any tiled detail where the tool needs to be held rather than pushed.
Operating Pressure
The SX-7 head (AR51G) is rated to a maximum of 2,000 PSI, with a recommended operating pressure of 800 to 1,000 PSI. Those are the tool's figures.
The manufacturer does not publish separate pressure or temperature ratings for the solution hose in this assembly. We have not been able to obtain them and we will not restate the tool's ratings as though they were the hose's. If you need a hose rating for a compliance requirement, contact us and we will request it from the supplier.
Important — Gekko Generations Are Not Cross-Compatible
There are two generations of Gekko tooling. The current range is the AR51 series; the earlier range was the AR54 series. Hydro-Force states plainly that the current wand connects to all of the new Gekko heads and will not work on old Gekko heads.
An adapter kit exists to convert AR54A to AR51A (part NM5641). We have not been able to confirm that it is the correct or sufficient part to run this assembly on an AR54-generation tool, so please do not assume it is. If you are running older Gekko equipment, contact us before ordering.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is "Safe Connect"?
It is listed by Hydro-Force as part of the assembly, but the manufacturer does not publish a description of what it is or how it works. We have asked the supplier and will update this page when we have a definitive answer rather than guess at it here.
Will it fit Gekko attachments other than the SX-7?
Every authoritative source describes this assembly as being for the SX-7 (AR51G) specifically, and none states that it fits other Gekko heads. It may well suit others in the AR51 range, but we have not been able to verify that and are not going to claim it. Contact us with your tool and we will check.
Do I still need my full hose set?
Yes. The whip is 10 feet and connects into your existing hose run — it replaces the last few metres, not the whole set.
Can I use it on the SX-12 or SX-15?
Those are floor tools with 2 inch vacuum. This is a 1.5 inch handheld whip. It is not the right assembly for them.
What are the three cuffs for?
They are the three 1.5 inch interfaces the assembly needs at either end and at the tool. AH42 is the standard threaded cuff and AH13 is the hide-a-hose swivel cuff; the manufacturer does not publish a description of AH15, which we have raised with the supplier.

What We See in the Field
The short hose at the tool gets punished far harder than most people realise — it's constantly being bent, dragged and twisted while the operator changes direction. When an SX-7 starts feeling awkward or you notice the hose beginning to kink, don't wait until it splits in the middle of a customer's floor. A good habit is to inspect the whip where it enters the fittings, because that's often where fatigue shows up first.
