
Urine neutralising Treatment
Urine Neutraliser is the premier urine neutraliser and decontamination solution for difficult-to-treat urine stains. Its primary ingredient, citric acid, neutralises alkaline urine salts and also eliminates odours caused by bacteria. Surfactants and other agents help deliver the citric acid deep into the carpet pad to ensure thorough flushing and removal of urine salts, proteins, and fats.

Urine Neutraliser can be used by itself to clean and neutralise fresh or easy-to-remove urine stains, or it can be used in conjunction withBio-Modifier XtremeandUrine Stain Removerfor areas that have suffered extreme urine damage, especially in cases where the urine is months or years old. These urine stains are often extremely difficult to remove as chemical decomposition and the extreme alkalinity create a multitude of chemical compounds that need to be removed and the urine will often "dye" dyeable carpets such as nylon or wool.

URINE REMOVAL SYSTEM
For light to medium urine damage:
Apply our all-in-onePet Zoneurine stain and odour removal solution, and allow it to dwell for 10 minutes. Extract. If stain is still
present, apply more Pet Zone orUrine Stain Removerand allow to dwell until dry.
For medium to heavy urine damage:
STEP 1: Decontamination with
- Dilute Urine Neutraliser with 4 parts of water in a pump or electric sprayer. Apply to the full area of contamination. Remember that the area of contamination under the carpet may be more than twice the size of the stain on the surface. Apply enough to reach the pad and subfloor. (Caution: some subfloors may be susceptible to water damage, be careful to not over apply.) Allow to dwell 10 minutes.
- Extract Urine Neutraliser with a Water Claw® or Flash Extractor™ tool. Flush clear hot water around the Water Claw® tool several times to remove dissolved urine contamination. For faster decontamination, use aWater Claw® extractor with Injectors.
STEP 2: Odour neutralisation withBio-Modifier Xtreme
- Dilute with 1 part warm water. Apply Bio-Modifier Xtreme heavily enough to penetrate all affected areas. Compressing the pad by stepping on it, or pushing down with a Water Claw, will disperse the product and provide even coverage. Use of a subsurface injection system such as the Injectimate or syringe can also be used to reach the contamination.
- Hydrocide Xtreme can be added to the solution if additional odour neutralising is needed.
STEP 3: Stain removal withUrine Stain Remover
- Polyester, olefin, triexta and solution-dyed nylon fibres will not stain.
- Pre-test in an inconspicuous area to determine fibre colorfastness. Not recommended for natural fibres like wool.
- Apply Urine Stain Remover to the surface fibres and allow to dwell for 10-20 minutes. Urine Stain Remover is ready to use and requires no dilution. Extract. If the stain is still present, apply more Urine Stain Remover and leave. Note: don’t saturate pad with Urine Stain Remover since the stain is on the fibres.
Choosing the right odour product
Odour work fails when the wrong class of product is used, not usually when the right one is used badly. Bridgepoint’s range splits three ways.

The order matters. Remove or extract the contamination first, treat what remains with a digester if the source is organic, then counteract residual odour. Reaching for a fragranced deodoriser over live contamination buys you a day.
What odour treatment can and cannot do
Odour control is only as durable as the source removal that precedes it. Where contaminated material remains in place — in underlay, subfloor timber or a wall cavity — odour can return as humidity and temperature change, because the source is still there to release it.
That is not a failure of the product. It is why urine work on aged contamination often needs the pad lifted or the subfloor sealed, and why a job quoted as a spray-and-go will come back.
Frequently asked questions
Will this stop the odour coming back?
Only if the source has gone. A counteractant or digester deals with what is present; it cannot treat contamination sitting in underlay or subfloor that you have not reached. On aged urine work, plan on lifting the pad.
Can I add it to my pre-spray?
The fragranced deodorisers and Hydrocide are designed to be added to cleaning solution or used as a direct spray. Bacterial and enzyme products are different — they need dwell time to digest the source, so applying them in a pre-spray that is extracted minutes later wastes the product.
Does fragrance count as deodorising?
No, and it is worth being clear with customers about the difference. Fragrance covers; a counteractant binds the odour molecule; a digester consumes the source. All three have a place, but a fragrance over live contamination is a complaint waiting to happen.
