PowerClean ChlorClean is a thickened chlorinated detergent with 6% available chlorine, potentiated with sodium hydroxide. It cleans, whitens and removes mould staining, and its thickened form stays on vertical surfaces longer than a thin bleach.
Key Features
- Mould and mildew stain removal on tiles, stone, masonry and concrete
- Removes grass and organic stains and food and beverage spills
- Deodorises bins, drains, toilets and grease traps
- Thickened, so it clings on vertical surfaces
- 6% available chlorine with sodium hydroxide
Where to Use It
- Outdoor areas: stains and discolouration on sandstone, concrete and paving
- Building exteriors: mould staining and general cleaning
- Showers, baths and tiles: cleaning, whitening and mould stain removal
- Toilets and urinals: cleaning, deodorising and stain removal (avoid steel units)
- Kitchens, butcheries and fisheries: cleaning and destaining resistant surfaces
How to Use It
Read the ChlorClean safety data sheet before use. Pre-test in an inconspicuous spot and check for colour change, especially on old baths and showers.
- Mould staining and heavy soiling: use undiluted. Apply from a squeeze bottle, agitate, allow at least 10 minutes, then rinse well with clean water.
- General cleaning in outdoor areas, washrooms and kitchens: dilute 30 mL per litre of water and mop or wash down.
Safety
- Hazardous chemical, signal word Danger, Poisons Schedule 6. Causes severe skin burns and eye damage (H314) and may cause respiratory irritation (H335). Wear chemical-resistant gloves, protective clothing and eye or face protection.
- Never mix with acids, ammonia or other chemicals. Chlorine products mixed with acids release chlorine gas.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will it remove black mould staining from grout?
Yes, that is one of its main uses. Apply undiluted, agitate, leave at least 10 minutes and rinse well.
Can I use it on natural stone?
Test first. Chlorine can discolour some stone and old enamel.
Can I mix it with an acid tile cleaner?
Never. Chlorine and acid release chlorine gas. Rinse thoroughly between products.
Is it a disinfectant?
We sell ChlorClean as a cleaner and mould stain remover. Where a job specification calls for a listed disinfectant, ask us for a listed product such as Actichem Percide.
A Note on Earlier Versions of This Page
Earlier versions of this page said ChlorClean kills bacteria, germs and mould spores, provides "powerful sanitisation", and is "AQIS approved — safe for use in food preparation areas". Germ-kill and sanitising claims in Australia need an ARTG listing, and we could not verify the approval, so those claims have been removed. The product is unchanged.
