Product Overview
A chemical resistant 12 litre (3 gallon) pump-up sprayer for everyday professional carpet cleaning — prespray, protector, deodoriser, acid rinses and all water-based solutions.
Transparent tank so the level is visible, durable plastic valve and extension, funnel top for filling, and an internal pressure relief valve.
Important — Water-Based Products Only
Do not use solvents in this sprayer. It is built for water-based chemistry and acid rinses.
If you need to spray solvents, the sprayer specified for that is the TCBS (AS16A), which has Viton parts throughout.
Why No Metal Parts Is a Feature
This sprayer has no metal in the fluid path, which makes it the best choice in the range for harsh acids — the chemistry that attacks the brass gun and brass extension on a heavier sprayer.
The same absence of metal is why it must not see solvent. It is a deliberate trade, not a cheaper build for its own sake.
Injection or Pump-Up?
Two different ways to get chemical onto a floor, and the choice comes before the model.
| Injection sprayer | Pump-up sprayer | |
|---|---|---|
| How it works | Runs off your solution line and meters concentrate into the flow | Self-contained, hand pumped, chemical mixed by hand |
| Mixing | Automatic, set by a metering tip | Measured and mixed by the operator |
| Needs | A machine and a hose to the sprayer | Nothing — works anywhere |
| Best for | Volume prespray on a job where the machine is already running | Away from the machine, small areas, and chemistry you would not put through the line |
| Models | AS08 Pro, AS08P Plus | AS202 TWBS, AS16A TCBS, AS14A Budget |
Most operators end up with both: an injection sprayer for prespray volume, and a pump-up for acids, solvents and anything the machine should not see.
Which Pump-Up Sprayer
The deciding question is what chemistry you put through it.
| Sprayer | Capacity | Solvents | Harsh acids | Build |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AS202 TWBS | 8 L | Viton check valve — ask us for your chemistry | Brass parts present | Brass trigger and extension, rebuildable |
| AS16A TCBS | 12 L | Yes — Viton throughout | Brass parts present | All-brass gun, metal pump rod, rebuildable |
| AS14A Budget (this product) | 12 L | No — water-based only | Best choice — no metal parts | Plastic valve and extension |
The AS14A has no metal parts, which is exactly why it suits harsh acids and exactly why it must not see solvents. The AS16A is the opposite trade: Viton throughout for solvent work, with brass in the fluid path.
If you are running one sprayer for everything, you will eventually damage it. Dedicating a sprayer to acid and another to solvent is cheaper than rebuilding either.

Operating Advice
- Release the pressure before opening the tank. A pump-up vessel holds pressure long after the last stroke.
- Dedicate a sprayer to a chemistry type and label it. Cross-contamination between acid and alkaline products is the most common cause of a sprayer that stops working properly.
- Flush it out at the end of the day rather than leaving product in it overnight. Most seal failures start there.
- Check the relief valve as part of servicing — it is the safety component on a pressurised vessel.
- Store it depressurised, with the lid loose.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use solvents in it?
No. Water-based products only. Use the AS16A TCBS for solvents.
Can I use acid rinse in it?
Yes, and it is the best sprayer in the range for that, because there is no metal in the fluid path.
Is it worth the saving over the TCBS?
If your work is water-based and acids, yes. If you spray solvents at all, no — you will damage it.
Can it be repaired?
Replacement pump assembly and valve are available.
What We See in the Field
Sprayers are rarely worn out. They are chemically killed — usually by one sprayer being used for everything, or by product left in the tank over a weekend. A second sprayer costs less than two rebuilds and a lost morning.
