Regular price $387.58 Sale price $358.09

SKU:ICP20276-5

Benefect Decon 30 is a ready-to-use, one-step botanical cleaner and deodoriser for water damage restoration. It combines botanical cleaning surfactants with Benefect's active ingredient, thymol from thyme oil (0.05%), so it cleans and deodorises in one step with no rinsing or wiping afterwards. Benefect formulate with whole essential plant oils rather than synthesised copies of their components.

In North America it is sold as Benefect Botanical Decon 30 Disinfectant under a US EPA registration. That registration does not apply in Australia, and CCW sells it as a cleaner and deodoriser.

This listing: 5 US gallon (18.9 L) pail, CCW SKU ICP20276-5.

Key Features

  • One-step cleaning and deodorising
  • Ready to use: no mixing
  • No rinse or wipe needed after application
  • Botanical active ingredient: thymol (0.05%) from thyme oil
  • Light lemon and thyme scent; no synthetic fragrances, dyes or bleach
  • Controls odours from odour-causing organisms on porous and non-porous surfaces, according to Benefect
  • Non-hazardous on its SDS

Applications

  • Water damage: cleaning and deodorising construction materials, contents, equipment and PPE
  • Porous materials: odour control on wood studs, subfloors, trim, timber, tack strip, concrete and panelling
  • Carpet, underlay and upholstered furniture: deodorising
  • Kitchens: many water losses start with a burst pipe or leaking dishwasher; Decon 30 leaves no synthetic chemical residue to rinse off
  • Mould remediation: as a wipe to remove surface mould, and as a final spray once remediation is complete

Directions

Cleaning

Wet the surface (spot test first for compatibility) and wipe clean. Pre-clean heavily soiled surfaces.

Deodorising

Wet the surface by sprayer (high or low pressure, hand or power operated), cloth, sponge or mop, and allow to air dry. No rinsing or wiping is needed.

Carpet

Apply to pre-cleaned carpet by wand, sprayer, extractor, spin bonnet or immersion until saturated (test fibres for colourfastness first). Agitate so the product reaches through the pile and backing, then extract and allow to air dry.

ULV fogging

Benefect allow Decon 30 to be fogged undiluted with ULV equipment in contained, vacant areas as a preliminary step before normal cleaning. Seal windows and doors, leave the area for the treatment time the fogger manufacturer recommends, and do not re-enter until the fog has settled. Ventilate fully before re-entry, and let equipment in the area dry before use. Then follow the normal cleaning directions.

Safety

The SDS currently available for Decon 30 is the US edition (ICP Construction, version 1.1, August 2026). It classifies Decon 30 as non-hazardous, with no pictogram, signal word or hazard statements, and as not regulated for transport. We have asked ICP Group Australasia for the Australian edition.

PPE is set by the job, not only by the chemical. A non-hazardous product does not make sewage, mould or trauma work safe. Wear the PPE the contamination requires, and follow your site's WHS procedures.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Decon 30 a registered disinfectant in Australia?

No. Its registration is with the US EPA, which does not apply here, and no Benefect product is listed on the ARTG. CCW sells it as a cleaner and deodoriser. Where a scope calls for a listed disinfectant, use a listed product such as Actichem Percide.

What does the 30 mean?

In the US, Decon 30 is registered with a 30-second contact time for one of its claims. Those claims do not carry across to Australia, so the 30-second figure is not something we can quote as a performance claim here.

Decon 30 or Original Botanical?

Both use thymol from thyme oil and are ready to use. Decon 30 adds botanical cleaning surfactants for one-step cleaning; Original is the older formula, light tan with a lemon and spice scent.

Can I put it through my extractor?

Yes. Benefect's carpet directions cover application by wand, sprayer or extractor on pre-cleaned carpet, agitation, then extraction.

Do I need to rinse it?

No. Apply and allow to air dry, including on kitchen surfaces.

Is it hazardous?

Its SDS classifies it as non-hazardous. The PPE you wear is still set by the contamination on the job.

A Note on Earlier Versions of This Page

Earlier versions of this page carried the manufacturer's North American marketing for Benefect Botanical Decon 30 Disinfectant: kill rates of over 99.99%, named bacteria and viruses (including HIV-1, MRSA and tuberculosis), "food surface contact sanitiser", and statements that the product had been reviewed by the US Environmental Protection Agency and was "available for sale in all States". Those are US EPA registrations and refer to US states. In Australia, disinfectant and germ-kill claims need an ARTG listing, and no Benefect product is listed, so those claims have been removed. We have also removed "no PPE required", which is not a statement we can make for every job. Benefect Decon 30 is unchanged. Where a scope calls for a listed disinfectant, ask us: Actichem Percide is the listed peroxide option we carry.
