What It Does
- Anti-Allergen Deodorizer is an oxidizing odour counteractant that is perfume free. Uses oxidation to convert mal odours into odour-free compounds. It is for use on all types of odours.
- Anti-Allergen Deodorizer is an outstanding deodoriser for mattresses or other odour problems on carpet and upholstery for people with allergies, chemical sensitivities, or environmental illnesses.
- Anti-Allergen Deodorizer is formulated for homeowners who are sensitive to perfumes and pesticides.
- Does not contain pesticides or perfumes.
Important: This Is an Oxidiser — Read the SDS
This page previously said the product "does not contain … harmful solvents, or other hazardous ingredients". MasterBlend's own Safety Data Sheet (04-070620, rev. 30 Jan 2024) says otherwise, and that sentence has been removed:
- Signal word Danger — H272 may intensify fire; oxidiser.
- Active ingredient: sodium chlorite, 1–5%.
- Keep and store away from clothing and combustible materials (P220). Do not breathe mist or spray (P260). Avoid release to the environment (P273).
- PPE listed: nitrile gloves, safety glasses and face shield, protective clothing; a respirator where a risk assessment calls for one.
Store the concentrate away from combustibles and keep it in its original, closed container. Treat "designed for use around sensitive people" as a statement about the treated, dried fabric in use — not about handling the concentrate.
The ResponsibleCare Anti-Allergen System
MasterBlend sets the range out as four steps:
- Anti-Allergen PreSpray — pre-spray, agitated with a pile brush or rake.
- Anti-Allergen Detergent Rinse (All Fibre Rinse) — the extraction rinse.
- Anti-Allergen Deodorizer (this product) — as needed, for urine and other odour problems.
- Allergy Relief Treatment — MasterBlend's final treatment. CCW does not currently list it; ask us if you need it.
Allergen Claims — What This Page Does and Does Not Say
MasterBlend formulates the ResponsibleCare Anti-Allergen range for use in homes where people have allergies, asthma or chemical sensitivities. That describes who the products are designed for. It is not a medical claim: these are carpet and upholstery cleaning chemicals, not a treatment for allergy or asthma, and CCW makes no health claim for them.
Directions for Use
- Test for colourfastness or colour change on textiles in an inconspicuous area before using.
- Mix 1 part Anti-Allergen Deodorizer with 10 parts water (90ml per litre).
- Mix well and apply to affected areas with a pump-up or electric sprayer.
- Locate urine-contaminated areas with a black light or moisture detector. Spray areas until saturated. Thoroughly clean carpets.
- For best results, use in an in-line pressure sprayer undiluted and rake in the product. Allow 10-20 minutes dwell time.
"Undiluted" in the last step means undiluted in the sprayer's bottle — MasterBlend specifies a 10:1 (yellow) metering tip on an in-line sprayer, so the product is still applied at about 1:10. MasterBlend's pump-up rate is 12 US fl oz per US gallon of hot water (about 94 mL per litre), in line with CCW's 90 mL per litre.
Oxidisers can change some dyes. The colourfastness test is not optional — do it, and let the test spot dry before judging it.

SDS odour conflict, shown not averaged: the product is sold as fragrance free, but the SDS lists its odour as "citrus". Perfume-free and odourless are not the same thing — expect a faint smell from the product itself.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does it mask odours with fragrance?
No. It is perfume free and works by oxidation, converting malodour compounds rather than covering them.
Will it fix a urine problem on its own?
Not if the urine has soaked into the underlay or subfloor. Find the full extent with a UV black light or moisture detector, saturate the affected area so the deodoriser reaches everything the urine reached, then clean thoroughly.
Can I apply it with an injection sprayer?
Yes — undiluted in the bottle with a 10:1 metering tip, per MasterBlend. See the Hydro-Force Pro injection sprayer.
Is it safe to store in the van next to rags?
Keep it away from clothing and combustible materials — the SDS classifies it as an oxidiser.
Does it treat allergies?
No. It is a deodoriser formulated without perfumes or pesticides. It is not a medical treatment.
