HP or Direct-It?
Injectidry makes two families. HP is the negative-pressure system that pulls air through a cavity via manifolds and hose lines. Direct-It pushes air from an air mover into a confined space through an adapter. Some connectors are shared and many are not — check which system a part is listed for before ordering.
Larger holes, more air
At 5/8 inch these move considerably more air than the 3/16 inch HP wall injectors — which is what the Direct-It approach needs, because it is pushing air in rather than metering replacement air into a vacuum.
The trade-off is the make-good. A 5/8 inch hole is a patch and paint job, not a filler-and-touch-up. Agree that with the customer before you drill.
Where They Fit in a Direct-It Setup
Injectidry's Direct-It kits (Direct-It UAA2 for axial fans and air scrubbers and Direct-It IN UAA1 for standard air movers) run in this order:
- Adapter on the air mover or air scrubber
- 3 × 1.25 inch × 50 ft Direct-It hoses (PL05)
- 17 × 1.25 inch hose cuffs (HC1)
- 17 × 5/8 inch wall penetrators (this pack)
- 10 end cap plugs (QCEP01) for outlets you are not using
Injectidry rates each Direct-It kit at 22 linear feet (about 6.7 m) of wall as packaged.
Fitting Advice
- Check for cables and pipes before drilling. Injectidry recommends an adjustable drill stop so the bit cannot go past the lining into services.
- Drill with an 11/16 inch paddle bit so the penetrator seats firmly.
- Where the finish allows, drill where the patch will be hidden, such as behind skirting boards that are coming off anyway or inside cabinets.
- Push the penetrator into its hose cuff, then into the hole, and check each one is seated before starting the air mover.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will these work with the Injectidry HP system?
No. HP uses 3/16 inch wall injectors on 3/8 inch tubing. The WP2 penetrators are for Direct-It only.
What size hole do they need?
Injectidry specifies an 11/16 inch paddle bit for the 5/8 inch penetrator.
Why 17 in a pack?
