FiberPlus pads are ideal for carpet scrubbing. This is the 8 inch (20 cm) standard FiberPlus pad in beige — the gentler of the two FiberPlus grades CCW stocks — supplied in a box of 15.
This soft synthetic pad is fortified with an elastomeric property that adds to their durability. These pads are well suited for scrubbing carpets with the correct degree of agitation. FiberPlus pads can also be used for light floor scrubbing.
Which Machines Use an 8 Inch Pad?
CCW lists this size for CIMEX machines, and the pad carries CCW's Cimex Accessories tag. Multi-head machines run one pad per head, so check the pad size on your heads before ordering, and replace all heads together so they wear evenly and the machine runs level.

Start with the standard pad. Move to MAX only on dense commercial loop carpet where the standard pad is not lifting the soil.
Why Scrub the Carpet With Pads Rather Than Brushes?
Consider this illustration. You have a greasy frying pan to clean. You could get it clean by scrubbing it with a scrub brush, but if you scrub it with one of those green kitchen pads the pan will clean up even easier.
Why? Because the pads make more surface contact. So when we scrub a carpet with a pad the same principle holds true. We have better agitation and we use less solution to get the job done.
How Long Do They Last?
FiberPlus pads are durable. They last approximately 650 to 930 square metres per installation when used for carpet cleaning.
That figure is the same one CCW quotes for the 17 inch pad. It is not stated whether it applies to each 8 inch pad or to a set on a multi-head machine — treat it as a guide and watch pad thickness instead.
Replace pads when they wear down to 1/4 inch (about 6 mm) thick.
Using FiberPlus Pads
- Vacuum thoroughly first. A pad drags dry soil around rather than removing it.
- Pre-spray or apply solution as the chemical label directs.
- Centre each pad on its driver so the machine runs flat.
- Keep the machine moving with overlapping passes. A stationary pad concentrates agitation in one spot.
- Check the pads as you go and turn or change them once they are loaded with soil.
