Pre-filters extend the life of your Velo's HEPA filter.

• Increase your Velo’s HEPA filtration capability by replacing your prefilter whenever dust accumulation is visible. 20 filter sleeves per pack.

What It Does

The prefilter is a sleeve that pulls down over the HEPA element on the Velo HEPA kit (F518). It catches the coarse dust and fibre first, so the pleated HEPA element behind it loads up more slowly. A prefilter costs a fraction of a HEPA element, so changing it often is the cheapest way to keep the kit working.

When to Change It

• When dust build-up on the sleeve is visible (Dri-Eaz).
• After every job where hazardous contaminants may be present, together with the HEPA filter.
• Whenever you fit a new HEPA filter (F519), so the new element starts clean.

Fitting

1. Switch off and unplug the Velo.
2. Undo the wingnut and lift off the top of the HEPA assembly.
3. Remove the old prefilter sleeve and bag it at the work area.
4. Pull the new prefilter down over the HEPA element, then refit the top and tighten the wingnut without over-tightening.

Special Instructions

• When using your Velo or Velo Pro HEPA Attachment for conditions where dangerous contaminants may be present, both the HEPA filter (F519) and the Prefilter (F520) should be replaced after each job to help prevent cross-contamination.
• Before installing new filters, vacuum, and damp-wipe top plate and wireframe according to current ANSI/IICRC standards for remediation.
• Remove filters and clean the unit before removing it from the containment area to avoid cross-contamination.
• Allow the unit to dry before installing clean filters.

Important: General Air Scrubbing Only

The Velo HEPA kit is sold by Dri-Eaz for general in-room air scrubbing. Dri-Eaz publishes no efficiency rating or test standard for the Velo HEPA filter, and a Velo is not a negative air machine. Where a job specification calls for a HEPA air scrubber, use a purpose-built unit from our Air Scrubbers range.

Is a prefilter included with the HEPA kit?

Yes, one. This 20 pack is the refill.

Can I run the kit without a prefilter?

It will run, but the HEPA element will load with coarse dust and need replacing much sooner.

Can I wash the sleeves?

Dri-Eaz sells them as replacements and gives no washing procedure. Replace them.
