Delmhorst JX-30 Moisture Meter (Inc Carrying Case) & 26-ES Hammer Electrode

Regular price $1,189.52

SKU:DHJX-30/P01

The Delmhorst JX-30 is a timber specialist. Where the BDX-30 spreads across wood, drywall and general building materials, the JX-30 concentrates on wood and carries far more species data — 72 species in the meter and another 125 available through the EDGE app.

That matters because resistance varies between species at the same moisture content. On flooring, joinery and timber supply work, the species correction is the difference between a reading you can put in a report and one you cannot.

It also corrects for whether you are using insulated or non-insulated pins, which most meters do not.

What is in this package

The 26-ES drives insulated pins into timber to read at depth rather than at the surface. Insulated pins read only at the tip, so you get moisture at that depth instead of an average through the board — which is what a flooring moisture gradient actually requires.

Meter and case only is available as the JX-30 with carrying case.

Frequently asked questions

Why does species selection matter so much on timber?

Electrical resistance differs between species at the same moisture content. Reading jarrah on a Douglas Fir setting can be several percent out, which is enough to lay a floor that should have waited. The JX-30 holds 72 species with another 125 in the app.

Insulated or non-insulated pins?

Non-insulated pins read the wettest point anywhere along their length. Insulated pins read only at the tip, which is what you want when measuring a moisture gradient through a board. The JX-30 corrects for which type you are using.

How does this differ from the BDX-30?

The BDX-30 covers wood, drywall and general building materials with 37 species. The JX-30 is wood-focused with 72 species plus 125 more in the app. Restoration and building inspection suits the BDX; timber flooring, joinery and timber supply suit the JX.

Can I add electrodes later?

Yes. All Delmhorst electrodes fit all current Delmhorst meters.

Support and warranty

Carpet Cleaners Warehouse is the exclusive Australian distributor for Delmhorst outside the agricultural sector. Service, calibration questions and warranty claims are handled here rather than sent overseas, and we hold electrodes and pins in stock.
