It has no carpet clamp — for pulling back carpet and drying underneath, the X-600AC and X-800 come with one.

Note on horsepower: this listing was previously titled 0.46 hp, which is the 345 W input converted to horsepower. XPOWER rate the motor at 1/4 hp — motor ratings describe output, not input power, so the two figures are not a conflict in the machine, only in how it was described. CCW's listing gives 1600 CFM, which matches XPOWER's US figure for the X-400A.

Positioning for Drying

  • Use the 0° or 20° kickstand position for carpet and hard floors, with the outlet close to the surface.
  • Angle air movers in the same direction around the room to set up a circular airflow.
  • Use 45° and 90° for walls, stairs and under-bench areas.
  • Run air movers with dehumidification — moving air evaporates water, and a dehumidifier has to take it out of the room.

Electrical Safety

  • Plug into an earthed outlet protected by an RCD, and keep leads off wet floors where you can.
  • Include the unit in your test-and-tag schedule.
  • Before daisy-chaining or running several units on one circuit, add up the current draw of every unit and stay within the circuit and outlet rating. The figures on this page are CCW's listing for the 230 V unit.
  • Do not run the unit if the lead, plug or housing is damaged.

Care

  • Keep the inlet grille clear of lint and debris — a blocked inlet cuts airflow and makes the motor run hot.
  • Wipe the housing down after Category 2 or 3 losses and before the unit goes to the next job.
  • If the thermal protection trips, switch off, unplug, clear the inlet and let the motor cool before restarting.

Choosing Between CCW's XPOWER Air Movers

Model Type Rated airflow (CCW listing) Weight Carpet clamp
P-230AT Mini Centrifugal, compact 700 CFM 4.3 kg No
PL-700A Low Profile Low profile 1000 CFM 8.7 kg No
X-400 Centrifugal 1600 CFM 7.3 kg No
X-600AC Centrifugal 2400 CFM 8.6 kg Yes
X-800 Centrifugal 3200 CFM 11.2 kg Yes
X-47ATR Axial fan 2800 CFM 11.3 kg No

Centrifugal air movers push a concentrated, high-velocity stream across the surface — the right tool for drying carpet, underlay and floors. Axial fans move a larger, wider body of air at lower pressure — better for general air circulation, ventilation and large open areas. Low-profile units get under cabinets, beds and toe-kicks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can it be used outdoors?

CCW lists it for indoor and outdoor use. Keep the unit and the plug out of rain and standing water.

Does it daisy-chain?

CCW's listing for this model does not show an onboard power outlet. The X-600AC and P-230AT listings do.

Does it come with a multi drying kit?

No. The X-400 multi drying kit is sold separately.

How many do I need per room?

It depends on the area, the materials and the drying standard you work to. Size the job on the water class and the room, not on a fixed number per room.
