It has long been described as the most popular air mover in the US restoration industry — a marketing description, not a figure CCW can verify. Using tough ABS plastic, it is made to withstand the abuse of any environment.
Where It Fits
The X-600AC sits in the middle of CCW's XPOWER centrifugal range: more airflow than the X-400, lighter than the X-800, and with an onboard outlet for daisy-chaining. It is the general-purpose restoration air mover for carpet, underlay and floor drying.

Using the Carpet Clamp
The carpet clamp holds lifted carpet so the air mover can blow underneath it — the usual method for drying underlay and subfloor in place ("floating" the carpet). Clamp the carpet edge, set the air mover in the flat position and direct air under the lifted section. Check the underlay and subfloor readings before deciding to dry in place rather than remove.
Positioning for Drying
- Use the 0° or 20° kickstand position for carpet and hard floors, with the outlet close to the surface.
- Angle air movers in the same direction around the room to set up a circular airflow.
- Use 45° and 90° for walls, stairs and under-bench areas.
- Run air movers with dehumidification — moving air evaporates water, and a dehumidifier has to take it out of the room.
Electrical Safety
- Plug into an earthed outlet protected by an RCD, and keep leads off wet floors where you can.
- Include the unit in your test-and-tag schedule.
- Before daisy-chaining or running several units on one circuit, add up the current draw of every unit and stay within the circuit and outlet rating. The figures on this page are CCW's listing for the 230 V unit.
- Do not run the unit if the lead, plug or housing is damaged.
Care
- Keep the inlet grille clear of lint and debris — a blocked inlet cuts airflow and makes the motor run hot.
- Wipe the housing down after Category 2 or 3 losses and before the unit goes to the next job.
- If the thermal protection trips, switch off, unplug, clear the inlet and let the motor cool before restarting.

Centrifugal air movers push a concentrated, high-velocity stream across the surface — the right tool for drying carpet, underlay and floors. Axial fans move a larger, wider body of air at lower pressure — better for general air circulation, ventilation and large open areas. Low-profile units get under cabinets, beds and toe-kicks.

Is the carpet clamp included?
Yes. The "C" in the listing is the clamp.
How many can I daisy-chain?
XPOWER do not publish an outlet rating for the 230 V unit. At 2.2 A each, add up every unit on the chain and stay within the circuit and outlet rating — ask us if you are unsure.
X-600AC or X-800?
The X-800 moves more air (3200 vs 2400 CFM) but weighs more (11.2 vs 8.6 kg) and stacks 3 high rather than 4. For most carpet drying the X-600AC is enough; the X-800 suits larger areas and dense materials.
Can it be used for ventilation?
It can move air through a room, but for general circulation over a large open area an axial fan such as the X-47ATR is the better tool.
