Each membrane typically controls odours in areas up to 280 cubic metres, with usable output life rated at approximately 270 hours of fan operation.
The membranes provide optimum and most consistent output in conditions of normal humidity and temperatures between 15 and 48 °C. The output will drop at lower temperatures and at humidity levels above 95%.
This is Vaportek's S.O.S. formula, made for fire and smoke restoration.
What It Fits
Vaportek lists its Vapor Shark membranes for the Vapor Shark and its Portable Industrial Systems. The Vapor Shark takes one to five membranes at a time, each treating about 10,000 cu ft (about 283 m³), so you scale the treatment by adding membranes. CCW does not list the Vapor Shark machine online; ask us if you need one.
These flat membranes do not fit the Restorator. For the Restorator, use an industrial cartridge such as the S.O.S. Restorator cartridge.

Getting the Rated Output
- Remove or clean the odour source first. Membranes treat airborne odour.
- Keep the space between 15 and 48 °C. Output drops in cold conditions.
- Dehumidify during water-damage jobs; output drops above 95% RH.
- Use air movement to spread the vapour through the space.
- Seal and store unused membranes in a cool, dry place.
Occupied Buildings
Vaportek describes its cartridges and membranes as natural essential-oil odour neutralisers that release a dry vapour, and says its systems can be used in occupied buildings without harming people, plants or animals. Those are the manufacturer's statements. As with any fragrance or odour product, keep occupants with fragrance sensitivities or respiratory conditions in mind, and remove the odour source first.

How many membranes do I need?
Work on about 280 m³ per membrane, up to five in a Vapor Shark. A 100 m² room with a 2.7 m ceiling is about 270 m³, so one membrane.
Can I mix membranes in the Vapor Shark?
Vaportek's distributors describe mixing membrane types to adjust the scent profile. Ask us before combining if you are unsure.
Why has the output dropped?
Low temperature, very high humidity or a membrane near the end of its rated hours. Check all three.
