The Vac Attack is a hose-to-wand adapter. It lets a 2 inch vacuum hose run to a wand with a 1.5 inch vacuum tube, without cutting the line or changing cuffs.
Slip the Vac Attack onto the 1.5 inch vac tube on the wand, then slide the 2 inch hose over it. That is the whole fitting operation.
Important — This Is a Tool Adapter, Not a Hose Joiner
The Vac Attack steps a hose down onto a wand tube. It does not join two hoses of different sizes to one another. For that you want a PVC connector sized across the two hoses — PVC Connector 2 Inch to 1.5 Inch (AH71).

Why Run 2 Inch Hose to a 1.5 Inch Wand at All
Airflow restriction is dominated by the smallest section and by total length. Running the long part of the line in 2 inch and only stepping down at the wand keeps most of the run at the larger diameter, which is where the airflow is won or lost. On a long run from a truckmount that difference is felt at the wand.
Stepping down at the tool is a compromise, not a fault. Stepping down at the machine and running the whole line in 1.5 inch is the version that costs you real recovery.

- Upstairs and long-corridor jobs where hose length is already working against you
- Mixed fleets where the hose is standardised at 2 inch and the wands are not
Operating Advice
- Seat the hose fully over the adapter. A partly seated joint holds until the hose is dragged around a doorway.
- Check the joint first when lift drops at the wand. A step-down is a natural place to lose vacuum and an easy one to walk past.
- Do not use a step-down to compensate for a hose you have already run too long. Fix the length problem, not the fitting.

Do I need a cuff with it?

Can I leave it fitted permanently?
Yes. Most operators do, and treat it as part of the wand rather than part of the hose.

Step-downs are blamed for airflow problems that were caused somewhere else. Before condemning the adapter, count the total hose on the floor — length costs far more than a single step in diameter, and adding a second hose to reach a back room does more damage than the fitting ever will.
