Hard boot or brush ring?
A brush ring conforms to an uneven surface and suits tile with pronounced grout lines. A hard boot ring in Teflon rides on a smooth, flat surface with less drag and a better seal — it is the right choice on polished concrete, honed stone and large-format tile with narrow joints.
On heavily profiled or uneven surfaces the hard ring will bridge the low points and break the seal. Carry both and match the ring to the floor.
Teflon is used because it slides. On a heavy tool over a large area, drag is what tires the operator and slows the job.
The 12 inch equivalent is the TH-260 hard boot ring.

No. The TH-40 uses the TH-260 12 inch ring.
Is ring wear covered by warranty?
Rings are wear parts. Turbo Force's Turbo Hybrid manual limits boot wear cover to 90 days.
