Solution valve spring for the HydraMaster stainless solution valve, listed as Spring, HM Solution Valve.
It returns the valve to closed when the trigger is released. A tired spring shows up as a valve that is slow to shut off, or that weeps after the trigger is let go.

Servicing the valve
If the valve is weeping, the spring is one of three wear items. The others are the plunger o-rings — 097-010 (large, valve plunger) and 097-022 (small, flow meter) — inside the stem assembly. Replacing all three at once is the usual approach; going back in for a second o-ring costs more in downtime than the part is worth.

CCW part codes are the HydraMaster part number with the 000- prefix removed — this item is HydraMaster P/N 000-155-003.

Frequently asked questions
Slow to shut off, or weeping — which is the spring?
The spring returns the valve to closed, so a tired spring shows as slow or incomplete shut-off. Weeping while closed points at the plunger o-rings instead. If you have both symptoms, service all three wear items together.
Can I stretch a tired spring to get more life out of it?
No. Stretching changes the rate and it will not return the valve reliably. It is a low-cost part on a valve that is opened thousands of times a day.
