Stain Out System (SOS) make two floor-standing sub-surface tools that CCW sells: the SOS PRO Sub Surface Extraction Tool and the SOS PRO with Flush Kit. Both use a detachable, height-adjustable handle.
A Handle Is a Wear Part on a Floor Tool
The handle takes every bit of leverage the operator applies, and it is the part that gets stood on and shut in van doors. A handle that has cracked or loosened changes how the tool is loaded, which shows up as uneven contact and inconsistent results before it shows up as a break.
Important: Confirm Which Handle You Need
The SOS PRO manual lists the handle as part 42-005, adjustable from 61 to 97 cm (24 to 38 in) above the floor. The Flush Kit version carries a quick disconnect and an on/off flow valve at waist height, so its handle is a different assembly. CCW has not confirmed which of the two this listing (NM5511-SOS) replaces — send us a photo of your tool before you order.

Check Before You Replace
- Look for cracks at the joint where the handle meets the head — that is where the load is highest.
- Check the height adjustment locks firmly. A handle that slips under load is as much of a problem as a cracked one.
- Stand on the foot rest, not the handle, when you want more pressure on the carpet.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does it fit the SOS hand tool?
No. The SOS Sub Surface Extraction Hand Tool connects straight to your vacuum hose and has no separate handle.
Can I use it on a Water Claw?
Not confirmed. Handles are not interchangeable between brands unless the manufacturer says so.
