Why This One Is Plastic, and Why That Matters
It would be easy to read a plastic shut-off as the cheap option next to the brass one on the Hydro-Force TCBS Sprayer 12 Ltr (AS16A). It is not — it is a deliberate specification.
The AS14A is built with no metal parts precisely so it can carry harsh acids, which would attack brass. The manufacturer's own note on the machine is that it is not recommended for solvents. So the two 3-gallon sprayers are not better and worse versions of each other; they are built for opposite chemistry.
Do not substitute the brass AS16A valve into an AS14A. It will fit the job in a mechanical sense and quietly destroy the machine's acid resistance.

Is plastic weaker than the brass version?
It is a different specification, not a lesser one. Metal-free is what makes the AS14A suitable for acids.
Can I fit the brass AS16A valve instead?
Mechanically you may be able to. Chemically it is a bad idea — you would be putting brass into the acid path the machine was designed to avoid.
What does the PS in the SKU mean?
It marks an OEM part number. The digits — 43000083 — are the genuine B&G number.
There is a similar B&G number 43000084. Which do I need?
B&G lists both and does not publish the difference. Order by your machine, not by the number, and contact us if you are unsure.
