Brass Shut Off Valve for AS16A Sprayer

Regular price $264.07

Product Overview

The brass shut-off valve assembly for the Hydro-Force TCBS sprayer, AS16A.

This is a B&G Equipment part, OEM number 42037500. The A-suffix Hydro-Force sprayers are built by B&G rather than Chapin, which is why the part number does not follow the NA-series convention used elsewhere in the range.

Important — Not Interchangeable With the AS14A Valve

The AS14A uses a completely different shut-off (Shut Off Assembly for AS14A (B&G 43000083), B&G 43000083) and the difference is not cosmetic.

  • AS16A / TCBS — brass shut-off, brass gun-jet, brass extension. Built for general chemical duty with Viton seals.
  • AS14A / Commercial — deliberately built with no metal parts, so it can handle harsh acids. The manufacturer specifically does not recommend it for solvents.

Fitting this brass valve to an AS14A defeats the entire reason that machine exists. If you run acid rinses through an AS14A, keep it metal-free.

Service

B&G documents a rebuild kit for this valve — the XR valve rebuild kit, part 42037510. We do not currently stock it. If your valve is leaking rather than broken, contact us and we will look at sourcing the kit rather than selling you a whole valve.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the PS in the SKU mean?

It marks an OEM part number rather than a Hydro-Force NA-series number. The digits after it — 42037500 — are the genuine B&G part number, so you can cross-check it anywhere.

Will it fit my AS14A?

It will not suit it. The AS14A is deliberately metal-free for acid work. See the warning above.

Can I rebuild instead of replace?

B&G makes a rebuild kit for this valve. We do not stock it yet — ask us and we will price it.

Is the body solid brass?

Distributor listings describe it as brass. B&G's own manual does not state the material, so we have not claimed solid brass over brass-plated.

What We See in the Field

"It won't shut off properly." A brass shut-off can last a long time if it's rinsed, but dried chemistry at the seat will make even a good valve start dribbling. When it no longer shuts off cleanly, service it instead of squeezing the trigger harder.

Leaking rather than broken? Contact us before ordering — a rebuild kit exists and may be the better repair.
