Confirm the generation before ordering
Protimeter has produced several generations of the MMS, and the covers are not shared between them. This cap is for the latest generation. If you have an earlier MMS, or you are not certain which you have, send us a photograph of the meter and we will identify it rather than have you order twice.
What the cover protects
The top cover shields the integral pins and the probe socket. An open socket collects dust and moisture, and a dirty socket produces exactly the kind of intermittent reading that gets blamed on the probe.
Frequently asked questions
Is this the same as the battery cover?
No. This is the top cover over the pins and probe socket. The battery cover is a separate part, and the MMS2 battery cover is a different part again.
My pins are bent as well — can they be replaced?
The integral pins on the instrument are not user-replaceable. Pins on plug-in accessories are: the heavy duty hammer electrode and the EIFS probe both take replacement needles. If the instrument's own pins are damaged, send us a photograph and we will advise whether it is a service job.
Which meters does this suit?
