Why a tool is needed at all
A mini Hygrostick sits in a sleeve set into the slab, sealed so that the air around it reaches equilibrium with the concrete. Getting it back out by hand is how sensors get damaged and sleeves get destroyed — and the sensors are the expensive part of a slab test.
Protimeter supplies this tool in the BLD8800-FL and BLD7750-FL flooring kits. If you bought a kit you already have one; if you are assembling a flooring capability from parts, you need it.
Reading the sensors also requires the BLD5806 mini Hygrostick extension lead.

It does not fit the SurveyMaster, TimberMaster, Mini range, Aquant or ReachMaster Pro. Those measure moisture in materials rather than humidity in air, and take no humidity sensor.
